Overview of the Class:
We explore and create art by examining the ideas and movements of the Early 20th century. This includes styles such as Cubism, Fauvism, Constructivism, Suprematism, and others, all aimed at rethinking and enhancing our painting practice.
This class offers innovative approaches to inspire students’ personal development in painting. Students will build confidence and cultivate a unique artistic voice.
Classes include:
Class covers color theory, composition, painting genres, and improvisation. You'll make new and unique work, participate in group discussions, receive one-on-one guidance, and participate in the weekly critique.

Areas of discussion:
We will discuss art history, different media (both wet and dry), tools, vocabulary, and critique skills. Specific focus areas include relevant art movements of the Early 20th Century (1907-1945), concepts of abstraction, and critique.
