This art class covers color theory, composition, painting genres, and improvisation. You'll participate in group discussions, receive one-on-one guidance, and have your work critiqued weekly.
- Note: Clean-up at the end of each session is required.
Who can join:
- No prior art training is a prerequisite, serious and strong interest is recommended.
Areas of discussion:
We cover art history, wet and dry media, tools, vocabulary, and critique skills. Specifically, we explore art movements from 1907-1945, abstraction concepts, and critique techniques.
Outcomes:
Students will complete five or more artworks based on goal-setting with the instructor. Artwork may not be completed during class time, so homework is expected. Students should submit their completed work for the following class meeting for group critique.
Supplies: We provide a list of recommended materials at registration. Basic supply kits are available for purchase. Students are encouraged to complete projects at home and may need to provide their own supplies.
Dress: Appropriate clothing for painting should be worn.
